COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course, using a Critical Race Theory framework, supports speech pathologists in identifying key features of African American English dialect across linguistic domains. The course explores methods for effective assessment & support for AAE-speaking students with and without identified disorders. Participants will learn to effectively advocate for AAE speakers and to promote awareness and understanding among educational stakeholders. 0.2 ASHA CEUs
